My name is Dr. Amirah Rimal. For years, I ran a primary care clinic, but COVID brought significant emotional and financial challenges. Insurance companies didn’t reimburse me for patient care, which effectively turned my clinic into a free service while leaving me without an income. I later transitioned into healthcare technology consulting, working with hospitals and ******ceutical companies to modernize EMR systems, virtual care platforms, and mobile apps. Unfortunately, I was laid off twice recently as hospitals began outsourcing more work.


 


When my daughter started kindergarten, I knew I couldn’t return to a clinical setting with on-call hours because of my responsibilities for pick-ups and drop-offs. That’s when I found digital marketing. It has given me the freedom to work from home, avoid being on call, and help others in similar situations.
