The Smith family, which consists of loving parents Richard and Susan as well as teenagers Sam and Jessie, is shown in the opening scene of the movie listening to Cliff Richard's Summer Holiday while traveling to the isolated Swedish island of Svalta. They are greeted with what can only be characterized as comedic dislike by the entire island's people when they board the ferry. However, with the ancient Karantan festival coming up in a few days, the family wants a vacation. The main characters in Get Away Myflixer continue traveling although something is wrong. An early incident occurs when everyone stops at a restaurant before boarding a ferry and meets a couple who warns them about Svalta, particularly during the Karantan season.
