Dunkley returns for New Zealand series Allakaket

Opener Sophia Dunkley could be in line for her T20I comeback after being named in England's 16-member squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand. Mahika Gaur, the 18-year-old pace sensation, was unavailable for selection due to a side strain.


Dunkley's inclusion is the only movement in an otherwise unchanged squad from the one that sealed the T20I series against Pakistan in May. Allrounder Freya Kemp, who played as a pure batter in that series, has been passed fit to resume bowling.


 


The five-match T20I series, in preparation for the T20 World Cup in October in Bangladesh, kickstarts in Southampton on July 6. Hove will host the second game on July 9 and the third T20I will be at Canterbury July 11 before the caravan moves to the capital for the two London fixtures at the Kia Oval and Lord's on July 13 and 17 respectively.
