Uncle Samsik tells the story of a Korean political drama set in the 1960s, about the mission of a Korean citizen who is ambitious to provide prosperity for his country after graduating from the United States.

This drama tells the story of two men named Kim San (Byun Yo-han) and Park Doo-chil aka Uncle Samsik (Song Kang-ho). Kim San is an elite graduate of the Korean military academy who changed his major to economics while training in the United States.
Kim San then returned to South Korea after his studies were completed. He also returned with a big dream, namely to turn his home country into an industrialized country.
This big ambition arose after Kim San received an education to study the economic structure of the United States. He then wanted to channel this knowledge so that South Korea could prosper like the US.
Kim San's great determination received a positive response when he met someone named Park Doo-chil. The man who was later called Uncle Samsik was willing to help Kim San achieve his dreams.
Uncle Samsik is known as a master problem solver. He is also able to adapt to any situation and work tirelessly when carrying out tasks.
